Frequently Asked Questions

What time are your worship services?

We gather for worship service at 9:00 AM (Blended) and 10:30 AM (Contemporary). We invite you to also join us in between services for a morning coffee fellowship from 10:00 AM – 10:30 PM.

How long does a worship service last?

Each of our worship services last approximately one hour.

Where should I park?

Our parking is located in both the front and the back of the building. We have parking for our new guests, elderly, handicapped, and families with infants and young children in the front parking lot. Both parking lots have easy and accessible entrances.

What should I wear?

Whether you prefer shorts or a suit, you are invited to join us as you are. Our members tend to dress pretty casual.

What can I expect in a worship service?

You’ll find our worship to be simple, reverent, and joyful. The focus of our worship is the Triune God of the Bible. We focus on the Lord Jesus Christ, acknowledging who He is and what He has done. During our services, you’ll find we are committed to the public reading of Scripture, expositional preaching, corporate prayer, and congregational singing.

Do you have a nursery available?

Yes, we have a nursery available for infants and young children (Birth – 2 Years). A Family ADA-compliant bathroom with changing station is also available.

Do you have a special service for children?

We offer Sunday School and Bible Study opportunities for children and youth during both hours of worship services. In addition, we encourage parents and guardians to model worshipping with their children in service. We have HCC Kids and Student Sermon Guides available in service to help even the littlest member of your family connect with God in worship.

Many families attend a Sunday School or Bible Study hour and then attend worship as a family or in reverse order depending on which service they choose to attend. We believe parents and guardians are the best people to demonstrate the life of a Christ-follower for children and youth. Therefore, we encourage families to worship and study the bible together. Our church is here to assist your family in being equipped and resourced to do that work.

How do I get connected at Highland Community Church?

Getting connected at Highland Community Church is simple. We would love to talk with you and help you learn more about our church family. The first step is letting us know by filling out a Welcome Card in service or sending us an email at 4HCCinformation@gmail.com.

Do you have small groups or Sunday School?

Yes, we have groups that meet on Sunday (Sunday School) and at various times of the week (Small Groups). An updated schedule can be found by navigating to the connect portion of our website and visiting the groups page.

Do you have service and volunteer opportunities?

Yes, we have countless service and volunteer opportunities. We encourage all of our members to discover their spiritual gifts. This spiritual gifts assessment is part of our membership class. After discovering the spiritual gifts God has uniquely given you to serve the body of Christ, we encourage everyone to sample various service opportunities available at our church. Service opportunities can be found on the sign up board by the church office or online here.

How do I learn about becoming a member?

We offer membership classes regularly throughout the year. We encourage anyone considering membership to attend the class when offered to learn about Covenant Membership. These classes will help you consider:

  • What is my testimony of faith in Jesus Christ?
  • Why join a church?
  • What do we believe? (Statement of Faith)
  • How do we live out our faith together? (Church Covenant).

While there is no obligation to join, the membership class is required for membership.

Following the membership class, the membership application, membership interview, elder board recommendation, and church affirmation will begin.
